Fundraising

Kerala Link has been involved in donating equipment and raising money for Jyothis Special School since 2001.

We raise money in 3 main ways:

• Child sponsorship
• Direct fundraising activities
• Application for grants for specific purposes

Child sponsorship

The Kerala Link sponsorship program was started in 2002 to provide regular income to directly benefit students and staff and Jyothis School.

A few years later, we also started helping with funding applications from the Women's Centre.

Now, each centre applies for the centrally held funds we have accumulated and we donate where we think the need is greatest at the time.

Direct fundraising activities

In 2007 Kerala Link, with the help of all its sponsors and supporters succeeded in raising the  £9000 needed for the new school bus.

Application for grants for specific purposes

In February 2006 Kerala Link was successful in securing a grant from the Hope for Children Trust in India for  £1500 to build a play park at Jyothis School. The children think it's just great! Thank you to everyone involved for all your effort!
