"Volunteeringat Jyothis School on behalf of Kerala Link was a life changing experience. I would encourage anyone with an adventurous spirit and an interest in working with children and young people with disabilities to get involved. The induction process was friendly and informative and I felt very supported during my time in India by Kerala Link's "family" of organisers, teachers, volunteers and friends.
The children were fantastic and keen to get involved in the arts and crafts, sports and drama activities which we arranged. Communication in the local language brought it's challenges but together we soon overcame these.
Southern India is a truely amazing area of often breath-taking beauty and I had the opportunity to explore a little of both Kerala and Tamil Nadu during my 3 month placement.
