A placement with Kerala Link costs

just  Rs 30,000   per volunteer for the minimum 6 week placement

or alternatively

                         Rs 15,000   per volunteer per month for longer placements

 Payable locally in Rupees (Rs) on arrival at the placement.

This includes:

• rent of the apartment
• cost of equipping the apartment
• all utilities
• use of a mobile phone (you pay for top-ups)
• transport between airport and placement at the start and end of your placement
• all communication costs
• in-country training expenses
• on-going Malayalam tuition
• the services of a local representative throughout your placement

This does not include:

• flights
• food
• visa costs
• insurance

Kerala Link is a charitable trust. These costs to you cover the expenses Kerala Link has incurred on your behalf. Your money does not pay any UK salaries, as everyone involved in the administration of Kerala Link in the UK is a volunteer. Should the money you pay exceed the expenses incurred, these excess funds will be directed to the Kerala Link fundraising account which is used to benefit the children and staff at the placements.

We would like to encourage you to raise funds to help meet these costs to you and to further enable you to finance projects of your choice once in Kerala. Ask for our fundraising ideas leaflet. You will find that a little goes a long way in India!

But I'm volunteering! Why should I pay you?

Please note: From 2011 all fees are to be paid on arrival in Kerala in Rupees. Inflation in India is currently very high and costs of supporting our volunteers continue to escalate so fees may have to rise again in the near future.  Please refer back to this page for updated costs.
